Are Digital Cameras Computers?

I agree with Mike Johnston, from the Online Photographer. I only considered teaching students to use the auto focus settings on digital cameras once 1.8 lenses became cheap enough and I understood the implications of how shallow DOF is on digital cameras.

The shift in full frame is towards computation and AI. However, you can make them-eg., a Sony a7R111--- manual. Just put an old non-Sony lens on them --eg., a Leica lens-- and everything is manually operated, just like an old fashioned film camera.
